Joe Spor joined the New York City Fire Department in 1994. He was assigned to Engine Co. 88/Ladder Co. 38 in the Bronx where he worked for seven years.
Three weeks prior to the terrorist attacks he fulfilled his life long dream by transferring to Rescue Co. 3, the same firehouse that his father served as both a firefighter and a Lieutenant.
Joe was known for his sense of humor and quick wit, accompanied by his easy going demeanor and an ever present smile. He loved to work with his hands, owning his own contracting business for home renovations and additions, while specializing in woodworking and carpentry.
He was a wonderful husband, an ever loving father, and the only son out of a family of six.
Joe leaves behind his wife of nine years and four beautiful children ages nine months to six years.
