May 3rd 1938 Accident with Engine Co. 48

Rescue Co. 3 and Engine Co. 48 were involved in a major accident at the intersection of E. 188 St. & Valentine Ave. in the Bronx while responding to separate alarms. This occurred May 3rd, 1938. Two members of Engine Co. 48 were killed. Capt. Joseph A. Tracy & FF. James F. Hughes. Numerous other brothers were injured.
