Pat McKenna and family pose after Pat received the John H. Prentice Medal for his brave acts on June 12, 2004 at Bronx Box 75-2334. Pat reported to the roof with all of the members of Rescue 3 where they encountered two victims trapped in the shaft by fire. Pat was lowered with the life-saving rope, as conditions deteriorated rapidly for the victims. He was able to reach the window and save the victim just as the fire had burnt through the door. Pat was part of the double roof rope rescue that day. Nice work Pat! |

Dan Foley and Family. Dan receives the Henry D. Brookman Medal for his brave acts on April 17, 2004 on Bronx Box 2447. Dan and Rescue 3 responded to the report of a man trapped in a storage tank. Dan entered the tank through a very narrow entry way and was able to secure the victim with webbing. With the webbing in place, the victim was hauled out. Nice work Dan! |
